With over a decade of experience, Silvia Ponce helps clients leverage tax benefits to finance housing and community development projects nationwide. Adept at working alongside financial institutions, investors, and syndicators, she understands the end-to-end legal support required to facilitate complex deals from origination through closing.
Focusing on low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) and new market tax credits, Silvia provides guidance on structuring transactions and alternative financing solutions to mitigate risk, drive business success, and help revitalize communities. Her role includes helping transactions run efficiently by conducting necessary due diligence, identifying key issues in the initial stages of the deal structuring process, and finding cost-effective solutions for clients.
Prior to joining Gallagher, Silvia worked at an Am Law 100 firm in Boston for several years and served as general counsel for one of the largest developers of affordable housing in the United States, where she managed all aspects of transactions involving federal and state low-income housing tax credits, equity financing, and upper tier fund structuring. She was recognized in the 2024 Best Lawyers Ones to Watch list.
