Paul S. Caiola Named 2017 Leadership in Law Award Winner

Gallagher Evelius & Jones is pleased to announce that Paul S. Caiola, a partner in the litigation group, has been selected a 2017 Leadership in Law award winner by The Daily Record.  Paul is one of 24 members of the legal community honored for their outstanding work.

A trial lawyer of first chair experience in complex civil litigation, Paul represents entities and individuals in complex commercial litigation and real estate litigation matters in various federal and state courts. He has a strong record of leading teams of attorneys in providing effective and aggressive representation to the firm’s clients.

Since 1999, Paul has served the Public Justice Center, which uses legal advocacy tools to pursue social justice, economic and race equity, and fundamental human rights for people who are struggling to provide for their basic needs.  Paul joined the Board of the PJC in 1999, and in 2002, led the search that led to the hiring of its Executive Director. He served as Board President for two years, and for a decade led the organization’s Law Firm Campaign, an annual fundraising campaign seeking financial support from the private bar.  Paul was instrumental in the development of a program that expanded the work of the PJC by having the organization partner with law firms on impact cases that advance the organization’s mission.  Since stepping down from the Board in 2012, Paul has been a member of the Leadership Council, and last year, co-chaired the organization’s 30th Anniversary Gala, the most successful fundraising event in the organization’s history. Since 2015, he has served on the Board of Visitors of the Francis King Carey School of Law, and he currently sits on a committee seeking to improve employment opportunities for graduates.

Nominations for all the awards were received from The Daily Record’s readers in addition to Maryland law firms, bar associations, chambers of commerce and the business and legal communities at large. The Daily Record launched the Leadership in Law Awards in 2001 as a way to recognize the outstanding work being done by members of the legal community throughout Maryland.
