The firm maintains a strong tradition of service for the good of society by encouraging
all attorneys to engage in civic and community activities, politics and public
service, and service to disadvantaged people. We are always involved in many charitable
or reduced fee engagements. Whether we are representing a death row inmate, advocating
for Maryland's watermen on the Chesapeake Bay, helping to produce housing opportunities
for the indigent, or working to make Baltimore's School for the Arts stronger
(to mention only a few of our projects), our attorneys and staff are motivated
by a desire to use their training and talents to improve the lives of others.
Our attorneys hold leadership positions in many of the region's businesses and
charitable organizations. The firm, its attorneys, and their families also contribute
generously to many worthwhile causes and organizations. For example, Gallagher
Evelius & Jones LLP is often the leader among Maryland law firms in per capita
giving to the United Way of Central Maryland's annual fundraising campaign.
The firm and several individual attorneys have been recognized by various organizations
for providing pro bono legal services and community service. We give our attorneys
the freedom, encouragement, and support to make positive contributions beyond
the important work of representing our paying clients.
