Education
Since the 1960's, beginning with our representation of Loyola University Maryland and the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, our education law practice has grown to include almost 100 private elementary and secondary schools, colleges and universities throughout the state of Maryland. Our experience working with many schools and colleges on a daily basis enables us to provide highly practical advice and to keep our clients up-to-date on new laws and cases affecting educational institutions. In addition to handling corporate, real estate, financing, personnel, and litigation matters, we provide advice on a full range of issues faced by educational institutions, including:- Student discipline and fair hearings;
- Campus safety and security;
- Faculty tenure and promotion;
- Intellectual property;
- Privacy and technology;
- Sexual harassment and other misconduct investigations;
- Tax exemption issues;
- Land use and construction; and
- Charitable giving programs.
