Education
Our firm has an active education law practice. Beginning in the 1960's with our representation of Loyola College of Maryland and the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, our education law practice has grown to include more than 100 nonpublic elementary and secondary schools and several colleges and universities throughout the State of Maryland. Our experience working with many schools and colleges on a daily basis enables us to provide highly practical advice and to keep our clients up-to-date on new laws and cases affecting educational institutions. In addition to handling corporate, real estate, personnel, and litigation matters for our education clients, we provide advice regarding such matters as:- Admission policies;
- Drug and alcohol policies and testing;
- Student discipline and fair hearings;
- Campus safety and security;
- Faculty tenure and promotion;
- Intellectual property;
- Education records;
- Sexual harassment;
- Technology and privacy; and
- Parental rights and custody disputes.
