Biography
Linda Jones concentrates her practice in the areas of health law, tax-exempt bond finance and business transactions working primarily with hospitals and other health care institutions on business matters, including the financing of capital projects, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, corporate structure and governance, compliance, tax exemption issues, hospital/physician relationships and other strategic alliances.
Linda advises health care clients on federal and state regulatory matters, including anti-kickback and physician self-referral (Stark) laws. In addition to her representation of health care institutions, Linda's work in the area of tax-exempt bond finance includes representation of many other nonprofit organizations as well as serving as underwriters' counsel.
Representative Transactions • Represent a community health system in all of its financings totaling more than $1 billion, including recent new hospital financing ($305 million) • Represent academic medical center in all of its financings since privatization, totaling more than $1.5 billion • Represented a community hospital in the first HUD-insured hospital bond financing in Maryland ($350 million) • Represent borrowers and underwriters in bond financings for numerous Maryland hospitals, colleges, high schools and nonprofit organizations • Represent community hospital in creating largest hospital-owned multi-specialty physician practice in Maryland (150 physicians)
