Biography
Practicing in the firm’s Litigation and Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy groups, Tom Dame protects the interests of the firm's clients in business litigation, business bankruptcy cases, receiverships, financial restructuring and workouts. He also represents religious entities in a variety of risk management matters, litigation defense and insurance coverage disputes. Tom Dame is board certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification. He was a member of the board of directors of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland from 2001 through 2005, and served as the chair of its Baltimore chapter in 2004-2005.
Trained as a mediator at the Harvard Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers, Tom accepts engagements as a private mediator. He serves on the board of directors of the Community Mediation Program, a Baltimore non-profit organization dedicated to resolving community conflicts through mediation.
Between 1998 and 2000, Tom served on the court-appointed Advisory Council in connection with the case captioned Thompson v. HUD, an action pending in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland concerning the desegregation of public housing in Baltimore City.
